Q: Why should I trust SportsAppraisals.com to handle my appraisal?

1. The appraiser for SportsAppraisals.com has over fifteen years experience as a professional collector and several years of experience as an appraiser of sports memorabilia items.  In addition to being a member of several respected collecting organizations such as the IADA, he is also a member of the Association of Online Appraisers (AOA).

2. We strive to make sure each appraisal conforms with the USPAP (The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice).  You're not simply getting a document with a value written on it.  In addition to the certificate giving a breakdown of the item, you will also receive a full two-page appraisal letter outlining your item and also details about the appraisal.

3. SportsAppraisals.com charges a flat $14.95 fee to appraise any item - there is no sliding scale or a higher fee simply because your item is more valuable.  You won't be stuck with an appraisal costing hundreds of dollars.

4. With a library of sources and our database of over 1,100 dealers, contacts, and companies, we are able to give you a quick and accurate appraisal.

5. Generally, our appraisals are completed and emailed to you within 24-48 weekday hours - one of the fastest response times anywhere.  Sometimes delays may occur, however.  If it is imperative that your appraisal be completed immediately, please contact us.

6. We specialize in ONLY sports memorabilia.  Many appraisers will focus on all types of antique items, generally limiting their knowledge in sports-related items.

Q: I am trying to purchase an appraisal, but having problems with the credit card processor or website - what should I do?

A: From time to time, a technical problem may occur with the website or with the credit card processor's site.  Please simply email us at info@sportsappraisals.com and request an invoice.  We will email you an invoice, usually in the same day.  The emailed invoice will allow you to pay with a credit card or a direct debit from your bank account.

You can also mail a check/money order for your appraisal - please email us for instructions.

Q: What services does your company provide?

A: SportsAppraisals.com provides appraisal services for nearly any type of sports memorabilia and some very limited non-sports items.

Q: What do you appraise?

A: We can appraise just about ANY type of sports memorabilia!  Trading cards, equipment, game programs, figurines, autographs, collectibles, photographs, apparel, game-used items, magazines, art, tickets, etc.

Q: What is the cost?

A: Your cost to appraise a single item is only a flat fee of $14.95 - among the lowest in the industry.  For more than one item, see our pricelist.  Most appraisal services will usually charge you a percentage of your item's value - meaning you could end up paying hundreds of dollars for an appraisal of a single item!

Q: How are appraisals arranged?

A: Most items can be appraised if you provide us with accurate descriptions.  Photographs through email (if you have them) always help, but in many cases, may not be necessary.  Your items do NOT need to be mailed to be appraised!  You simply email the description of your item(s) and generally within 24-48 weekday hours, your appraisal will be completed and emailed to you.  Upon request, we can many times also provide you with an emailed estimate within 24 hours.  To get started, click here.

Q: What will I receive with my appraisal?

A. SportsAppraisals.com will provide you with the following as part of your appraisal:

1. A certificate documenting a full breakdown of your appraised item(s) - the certificate will also include a photograph of your item if one is sent via email to us emailed to you as a PDF document.

2. A documented professional 2-3 page letter explaining your appraisal on our company letterhead emailed to you as a PDF document.

Q: How long will it take to receive my appraisal?

A. Your emailed appraisal will generally be emailed within 24-48 weekday hours.  We can also many times, upon request, provide an emailed 'estimate' within 24 hours.  After purchasing your appraisal, you must contact us to request this service.  Please note, however, that no guarantee is given regarding a completion date for any appraisal or an estimate.  If it is imperative that an appraisal be completed by a specific date, please contact us prior to purchasing an appraisal to make appropriate arrangements.

Q: What is the first step in setting up my items to be appraised or sold?

A. Please Visit our pricelist here to begin your appraisal.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: We accept credit cards and checks online via our secure online payment processor.  If you would like to pay via a check or money order via mail, please email us at info@sportsappraisals.com.

Q: What type of appraisal will I receive?

A: The appraisal is a personal-use appraisal, meaning that it is for your own personal use or for contemplated sale to provide you with an approximate value of your item.  Your appraisal may be accepted by a third-party such as an insurance company, but any acceptance is completely their decision.  Some third parties may require a hands-on or in-person appraisal - if you are obtaining this appraisal for anything other than your personal use, it may not be valid if used by a third party.

Q: Is SportsAppraisals.com a licensed company?

A: The sportsappraisals.com website is operated by the registered business It's Authenticated Sports Memorabilia.
